It’s the conference with the best players, best coaches, most passionate fans and most money to throw around. In other words, it’s the conference everyone outside the SEC loves to hate.
What could derail this dynasty? Texas and Oklahoma, the Big Ten Network, new Pac-10 Commissioner Larry Scott’s bold vision, a playoff system, or self-inflicted wounds by the SEC.
It’s a remarkable dynasty that we might never see again in the era of 12-member conferences. Sometime in the future, when this run has ended and super conferences exist, we’ll always be able to say, either with fondness or disdain, “Remember the SEC.”
