McDaniel will stand for Miss. principles in DC

Politicians are awfully good at making promises on the campaign trail and awfully good at breaking them once elected.

In Washington, obedience is rewarded with important titles and powerful committee assignments. Conversely, those who dare to question the status quo — or worse, rebel against it — are reprimanded, threatened, and if necessary, punished.

It is rare to find a political candidate sufficiently firm in his principles that he will not be swayed by threats or peer pressure.

The voters of Mississippi are lucky to have such a candidate — my close friend and colleague Chris McDaniel.

I have served with Chris in the state Senate for six years and have witnessed his conviction and his fortitude time and again.
