Barbour noted Obama’s trip was to Louisiana, not Mississippi, but says he doesn’t fault the president for that.
“I look forward to the president coming to Mississippi, and look forward to hosting him when he does,” Barbour said. “But I understand why he hasn’t come here — there’s nothing to see. If he’s wanting to show he’s engaged, then Louisiana is where he needs to be, unless he wants to go to Pensacola and help pick up eight tar balls.”
The White House on Tuesday announced Obama will be coming to Mississippi, Alabama and Florida Monday and Tuesday to assess preparations and cleanup on the oil disaster.
