Latest legislative resignation stunner leaves key committee vacancy

The chairman of the Education Committee always is a key post, but it could be especially pivotal during the 2018 session. Both Gunn and Gov. Phil Bryant have said they hope to renew the effort to rewrite the Mississippi Adequate Education Program, which is the mechanism used to provide most of the state’s share for the basic operation of local school districts.
