One problem that plagued the Golden Eagles on defense last season appeared again Thursday as the Gamecock quarterbacks ran 12 times for 69 yards and USC’s oversized receivers snagged passes over the USM defensive backs.
“We came up short in eliminating big plays,” USM linebacker Korey Williams said. “We gave up four explosive plays that were true game changers and accumulated a lot of yardage. I felt like that was a big key.”
“We were in the right position,” said safety Justin Wilson. “We just didn’t make plays.”
