Stanley on QB battle: ‘It’s not going to be given to me’

The rising sophomore from Tahlequah, Okla., enters the spring as the favorite to beat out redshirt freshman Raymond Cotton, but it’s not an open-and-shut case. Stanley, who mopped up in a few games during the regular season and was forced into duty for several series during Ole Miss’ Cotton Bowl win over Oklahoma State on Jan. 2, knows he’ll have to play well to be the starter when Jacksonville State makes its way to Oxford for the Sept. 4 season opener.
