Mississippi State Auditor Stacey Pickering will be available on Tuesday not only to residents of Brookhaven, but also for city officials to pick his brain before their regular board meeting.
Lincoln County Teenage Republicans Director Cindy Moore said Pickering will be at the State Room on Cherokee Street Tuesday at 6 p.m. to address concerns on how government employees all over the state are using taxpayer dollars.
“Recently there have been a lot of issues come up about how funds are appropriated and the appropriation of city funds in various towns in Mississippi,” she said. “For the city officials they have a lot of questions and concerns local to Brookhaven that they would like to speak with Stacy directly about. They don’t have that opportunity every day of every week.”
The “Meet and Greet” with Pickering is scheduled for 6 p.m., but since the Board of Aldermen meeting takes place at 6:30 p.m., he will be available to city officials at 5:30 p.m.
