Temple’s Al Golden and Houston’s Sumlin to interview for Cincinnati head coach job

ESPN.com is reporting that Temple University head football coach Al Golden and University of Houston coach Kevin Sumlin will “definitely” interview for the Cincinnati Bearcats coaching vacancy.
Joe Schad reported to ESPN Insider that both coaches, who lead up-and-coming programs, are looking to move into a BCS conference and are reportedly interested in the job at UC.
Temple’s coach Al Golden coached the Owls to a 9 win season this year and is known as an effective recruiter. Golden has already taken his name out of the coaching rumor mill twice before (UCLA in 2007 and Syracuse in 2008) to stay and finish his job with the Owls.
This season, Houston’s Kevin Sumlin led the Cougars to a 10-2 record and were ranked No 2. in the nation in scoring offense, scoring an average of 43.9 points per game. Houston will play Air Force in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl on Dec. 31.
No word yet on when the interviews will take place.
