Texas fortunate to not have landed LSU’s Perrilloux
As LSU quarterback Ryan Perrilloux’s college career collapsed before our very eyes, I could not help reflecting back to the two times I spoke with him when he was one of the nation’s hottest recruits.

Long before Tigers coach Les Miles kicked him off the team, the warning signs were there for Perrilloux’s suitors.

I recalled December 2004, when Perrilloux, the USA Today national high school player of the year, was telling any reporter who covered Texas that he would be a Longhorn. I spoke with him at the UT football banquet, and he talked about hanging out with Vince Young before I got to more pressing matters.

Me: Everybody’s talking about your decision, Ryan. What are the chances of you picking Texas over LSU right now?
