We interrupt our coverage to bring you this special report.

Travis Childers emerged from hiding yesterday and released a new ad.

Notwithstanding the fact that he didn’t mention what party he’s affiliated with, there was something eerily familiar about that ad. In fact, the Y’allPolitics Memory Division had to go to overdrive, but it dug it up.

This must be straight out of the losing playbook for Democratic Senate candidates.

Two white haired, middle-aged white guys dressed in competitive normcore talking about their father, the value of education, hard work, and values. And above all costs, they omit any mention that they’re both Democrats. It’s like they’re twins – or they received the same bad campaign advice. Musgrove was a much better candidate than Childers, and still lost to Roger Wicker by 10 points.

Regardless, the folks at the Mississippi Democratic Trust got all doe-eyed about Childers ad, in a backhanded sort of way.

Careful folks. You may actually tip folks off that Childers plans to caucus with Harry Reid. Childers seems to be capable of saying anything but make no mistake how he’ll vote when it comes down to it in D.C. Mississippi Democrats are absolutely counting on it.

Lest there be any doubt about what the intention of this ad is, the Y’allPolitics Media Spending Watchdog division learned that the first (and possibly only) place this ad will run will be in Hattiesburg and the Gulf Coast. Hmmmm. What could that mean? Is it yet another ploy for disaffected McDaniel voters?

Usually this sort of play will be a precursor to some skewed polling trying to justify to the DSCC that the candidate has a shot. Look for that inside the next 14 days. Though with the DSCC on the run and on the ropes for incumbent seats like Arkansas and Louisiana, don’t count on the Harry Reid-led cavalry coming to Childers’ rescue.

What has been more fun than anything is watching the McDaniel kamikaze supporters on Facebook try and contort like a pretzel to justify a Childers vote as being a “more conservative” alternative to Thad Cochran, despite their venom for what they perceive happened during the primary. From the Y’allPolitics Irony Division, isn’t it precious that McDaniel die-hards are figuring out the best way to justify not supporting their party’s nominee, while the campaign fights a legal challenge based on the very premise that some Republican primary voters should be disqualified precisely because they weren’t planning to support the nominee (allegedly)? And yet still no word from the Pro-Libertater in Chief on telling the troops what to do next. Hopefully, the Supreme Court is paying attention to that. We may hear as soon as today on the challenge.

From the award winning Y’allPolitics Memory Division, here are a few things to remember about Childers.

Travis Childers is Barack Obama’s chosen candidate in Mississippi. That’s who he and Harry Reid want to win. Obama’s OFA helped Childers with phonebanking in 2008. Though, bless his heart, Childers couldn’t seem to bring himself to thank Obama for the help. And Childers is the only candidate in this race to donate to John Kerry’s presidential campaign.

REAL conservative. Stew on that in your next liberty meeting, folks.

That’s the way it was – Day 114 of the McDaniel Hostage Crisis.

Good day Mississippi – and good luck.
