When asked on one thing he would look to fix in sports, President-Elect Barack Obama said he would push for a playoff in college football, joining a loud echo of fans wanting a playoff.
In an effort to take up Obama’s call to service, I have organized my own playoff plan that maintains the importance of the regular season and even increases the quality of play.
My system would be a 12-team, month long playoff that would occupy the entire month of January.
Now, implementing a playoff relatively soon would be tougher for Obama than fixing the economic situation, so don’t expect the change to happen. But still, it’s fun to think of a better system, so here goes.
