LSU baseball got back to its winning ways Wednesday night against Tulane at Alex Box Stadium.
The No. 8 Tigers came into the night’s contest riding a two-game losing streak — their first in nearly a year — but showed no signs of the prior losses affecting them against the Green Wave.
LSU (27-6, 8-4) held Tulane (21-13) to six hits while getting 16 of their own en route to a 10-4 win against the in-state rival.
“No one thought we were going to have a three-game losing streak,” said LSU sophomore right fielder Mikie Mahtook. “We knew we were going to win this game. It was just something we had to do. We knew we had to do it and come out with a win, and we played really well tonight.”
