In “Fired Up,” a teen comedy in area theaters this weekend, a pair of high school football hunks head for the sidelines to become cheerleaders. Stigma aside, it works for these secure-in-their-manhood dudes.

1. George W. Bush — Save the snickering. In the early ’60s, the former president was head cheerleader at the elite Phillips Academy in Andover, Mass.

4. Trent Lott/Thad Cochran — Aspiring senators, do not necessarily read too much into the fact that these pols were cheerleaders at the same university (Ole Miss).
