STARKVILLE — A familiar name has suddenly entered the conversation about who will be Mississippi State’s new head coach.
Tommy Tuberville, who a decade ago spurned State’s archrival, Ole Miss, and then went 85-40 in 10 years at Auburn, resigned under pressure as the Tigers coach Wednesday afternoon.
The news sent those State fans following every iota of information on their school’s coaching search into a frenzy. Immediately, Tuberville became topic No. 1 to all – and target No. 1 to many.
