BATON ROUGE — Consider the recent No. 21 ranking LSU received in the Associated Press preseason poll as another slap in the face. File it next to that prediction of fourth in the Southeastern Conference West by SEC media last month.
“I think we all recognize that that’s not a compliment to us,” LSU coach Les Miles said Monday on a national radio show. “I think we’re in position to achieve very great things in this year. So I think our guys are looking to play and maybe make a point and prove that they’re a little under ranked this year.”
