NAPLES — Every now and then, a person will say something that just resonates.
Recently, NBA forward Ron Artest was asked why he signed with the Los Angeles Lakers for “only” $33 million over five years. In the NBA, Artest is “worth” more than that. Artest smiled and said, “If you can’t make it on $33 million, then you got problems.”
Which leads us to college football and coaches’ salaries. Oklahoma’s Bob Stoops will be getting a new contract that will pay him more than $4 million per year. Alabama feels they have a great coach in Nick Saban, so the school is planning to pay him more than $4.25 million a season.
