Utah CB Sean Smith on Alabama: “Don’t go out and play like you don’t want to be in the Sugar Bowl.”

Alabama coach Nick Saban didn’t mind pointing the finger at the team’s lack of enthusiasm as the reason for the loss. He also didn’t mind telling everyone who’s fault it was.
“I’m responsible to have the team ready to play,” said Saban, after the 31-17 loss to Utah in the Sugar Bowl. “I don’t think we were ready to play today.”
Saban was asked about his comments referring to Alabama as the only “real BCS” team to go 12-0. He apologized for them. He was also told that motivated Utah.

“I don’t think our guys played with enough intensity,” Saban said. “So, if that’s what gave them all their intensity, then I guess I’m responsible for the way they played and I’m responsible for the way we played. So I’m responsible for the whole (darn) kitten kaboodle.”
