For a guy who has averaged fewer than six sacks per season over his four-year career, Vikings DE Ray Edwards is suddenly becoming a regular in the blogosphere … and, admittedly, some credit goes to The Huddle.
Edwards, who’s likely ticketed for restricted free agency rather than the unrestricted variety assuming no new labor agreement is reached in the next two weeks, is none too happy that those parameters likely mean he will make no more than one-third of what NFL commissioner Roger Goodell gets.
“I don’t see him out there getting hit or nothing like that,” Edwards told the (Minneapolis) Star Tribune last weekend. “The commissioner makes $9 million, so you tell me where the balance is? He doesn’t put his life on the line, he pushes a pen.”
