Who can figure out Keenan Allen?

Keenan Allen (left) was always sort of a mystery anyway. A lanky, soft-spoken athlete, he was hardly an attention hound–and one got the feeling he avoided the media as much as possible.

That personality is what has made the recent twists in the Sporting News Top 100 DB’s recruiting process even more of a mystery.

Allen is still considered a commitment to Alabama. He has been one since November and has never said publicly that he has changed course. But here’s the twist: In January, his brother, 2009 Buffalo starting quarterback Zach Maynard, left the school when it was learned coach Turner Gill was leaving the Bulls to take the head coaching job at Kansas.
