Wicker is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee who has been outspoken in his opposition to these cuts. He says Congress and the president have known this was coming for a long time.
“As early as last year the House of Representatives passed a bill to redistribute the sequestration cuts so they would not hit the Department of the Defense,” Wicker tells OneNewsNow. “We could have done this without anybody being furloughed.”
