U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., is getting comfortable in his seat on the other side of the Capitol.
Wicker, who was appointed by Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour to replace Trent Lott and then later elected to the seat by Mississippians, served in the U.S. House as a representative of the First Congressional District from 1994 until the appointment.
Wicker talked to The Meridian Star about some of the issues facing the country as he strolled through the underground tunnel of Capitol Hill. The interview was interrupted as Wicker was called to the floor to vote to confirm Hillary Clinton as the Secretary of State.
