As the world waits for Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels to decide on whether to make a 2012 presidential run, his longtime friend Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour has emerged as The Oracle of Daniels.
But in an interview with Fox News on Wednesday, Mr. Barbour, who decided not to run last month, wasn’t particularly helpful.
“Mitch has got to make that decision,” the Mississippi governor said. “There are a lot of good people. I expect more people to get in the race. Hopefully, Mitch will be one of them.”
Shortly after Mr. Barbour announced he wasn’t running, Mr. Daniels issued a statement to say he was prepared to support his friend from their days in the Reagan White House. On Wednesday, the Mississippi governor said he wasn’t in any hurry to publicly endorse any of his would-be rivals, presumably including Mr. Daniels.
