MOSS POINT, Mississippi — About 100 people gathered Tuesday evening to hear State Rep. Jeramey Anderson, D-Moss Point, give his first State of the District 110 Address.
Anderson, the youngest state representative elected at age 21, finished his first year in the state Legislature earlier this year and residents say they were anxious to hear what he had to say…
…The event was also attended by dignitaries like Rep. Sonya Williams Barnes, Jackson Mayor Tony Yarber, and Rickey Cole, executive director and chairman of the Mississippi Democratic Party.
“Don’t let the young face fool you,” said Cole with a laugh. “You have a great leader. His kind of talent, energy, and will to see things in a new way is what we need.”
Anderson focused his address on economic growth, education, healthcare, minimum wage and equal pay for women — a cause near and dear to him.
