This whole Scruggs judicial/political scandal is about money . . . who gets it, and why. Campaign donations were a huge lever that this crowd used to get and keep their friends in political power. That’s not to say that anyone who received contributions from these folks did anything bad (though many right thinking pols have returned money from these sources). However, there certainly seems to be a pattern in their individual and collective political donations, and we do see some of the folks that they have given to coming to their rescue.

Though the award winning Memory Division here at YallPolitics, I have put together a list of where those contributions from Joey Langston went. They come as a combination of sources, so they are not all inclusive, nor do they include “shadow contributions” (contributions from immediate family members). This also doesn’t include “ghost donations” through PACs or other soft money organizations that found their way into the hands of many of the same people listed below. These sources are compiled from OpenSecrets.org, FollowtheMoney.org and campaign reports from the MS Secretary of State’s website.
